Masala papdi is one of the best tea time snack you can make without any mess. And ajwain seeds are good for digestion. Also Masala papdi is a Healthy snack for kids. So give it a shot. You can also make papdi chaat using this by adding onion, tomato, coriander leaves and some green chutney and tamrind chutney to enhance the taste.

Ingredients:

1. All purpose flour/maida – 1 cup 2. Sooji – 1/4 cup 3. Rice flour – 1/4 cup 4. Ajwain seeds/ carom seeds/ om kaalu – 2 tablespoon 5. Pepper powder – 2 tablespoon 6. Salt as per the taste 7. Oil – 2 tablespoon

Procedure for making masala papdi:

1. Powder the ajwain seeds and mix all the ingredients in a bowl. 2. Add water in batches to form a dough. 3. Let it rest for 1 hour. 4. Take a ball of dough and roll thin like chapathi. 5. Take a bottle cap and press it to get round shape or you can cut it into any shape. 6. Deep fry them in hot oil until it turns golden brown.

SECRET TIPS:

Use a fork to press the rolled chapathi gently so that it won’t raise like poori while deep frying.
