TRADITIONAL JALEBI RECIPE
I always thought making jalebi is a whole mess. But today my father proved me wrong. He showed me how to make traditional jalebi recipe easily with less time. So it definitely goes up in my recipe list.
Ingredients:
1. Maida/all purpose flour – 1 cup
2. Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
3. Curd – 1/2 cup
4. Food color – 1/4 teaspoon
5. Sugar – 2 cup
6. Lemon – 1 tablespoon
7. Cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon
Procedure of making traditional jalebi recipe:
1. In a pan, add sugar and 1 cup of water and let it boil to get a one string consistency sugar syrup.
2. Once it’s done, add half of food color, lemon juice and cardamom powder and allow it to cool down.
3. Furthermore, in a mixing bowl, add maida, baking powder, remaining food color with curd and mix it to get a batter consistency.
4. If you have a ketchup bottle, you can use it to make jalebi shapes or you can use milk packets to make a cone.
5. Add the batter to ketchup bottle or cone and make jalebi shapes directly in the oil pan.
6. Deep fry for 4-5 minutes until it becomes crispy and turns golden brown.
7. Add the fried jalebis to the sugar syrup and serve hot after 5minutes.
SECRET TIPS:
While adding jalebi to the syrup, make sure the syrup is not too hot to make crispy jalebi.
