Methi dosa is one of the healthy breakfast you can have. speciality of this recipe is, no need to let it ferment for 5-6 hours before making. Although it has to be soaked for 8-10 hours.


For methi dosa

  1. Rice – 1 cup (250 g)

  2. Menthya / Fenugreek – 1/4 cup

  3. Poha – 1/4 cup

  4. Salt – 1 table spoon

  5. Baking soda – 1 teaspoon

For coconut chutney

  1. Coconut (grated) – 1 cup

  2. Green chili – 6

  3. Tamrind juice – 1 tablespoon

  4. Curry leaves – 8-10

  5. Salt


Of making methi dosa :

  1. Take rice and menthya/Fenugreek in a big bowl and wash it thoroughly for 2-3 times.

  2. Add 2-3 cups of water and let them soak for 8-10 hours or over night.

  3. Once it’s soaked for 8-10 hours, soak poha just 30 minutes before grinding the batter.

  4. Remove water from both rice and poha if any and grind into a fine paste to make the batter.

  5. Take the batter in a bowl and add salt, baking soda and mix well.

  6. Heat the pan, spread a laddle full of batter on the pan.

  7. Roast it on both the ends by adding a spoon of ghee.

Procedure of making Coconut chutney :

Add all the above mentioned ingredients into a mixer jar and grind it by adding water in batches.

Coconut chutney goes very well with menthya dose. This is my personal favourite combination. You can also try it with spicy tomato chutney.
