PLANTAIN FRITTERS/ BAALE KAYI BAJJI
BAALE KAYI BAJJI RECIPE
Plantain fritters or baale kayi bajji is very easy to make recipe.
Ingredients for baale kayi bajji :
Plantain / baale kayi – 1
Fried Gram flour – 1 cup
Rice flour – 2 table spoon
Chilli powder – 2 table spoon
Baking Soda – 1 tea spoon
Ajwain – 1 tea spoon
Clean the plantain and cut the edges.
Slice the plantain or baale kayi and place it in a bowl of water.
Take a bowl, add fried gram flour, rice flour, salt, chilli powder, baking soda and ajwain. Mix all the dry ingredients well.
Add water in batches to make a thick batter.
Dry out the sliced baale kayi slices using a cloth.
Immerse the dried slices in the batter to get a nice coating on the slices.
Meanwhile, keep oil for heating .
Once the oil is heated, add the sliced baale kayi which is immersed in batter one by one.
Deep fry for 7-8 minutes in a medium flame.
Makes about 8-10 fritters in 1 plantain. Tastes best when it’s hot and spicy.

Sliced plantains are placed in water to prevent it from turning black.
